The Nexus Laboratory Research team has released a comprehensive model designed to guide ethical artificial intelligence deployment across Polish public and private institutions. The framework addresses transparency, accountability, and bias mitigation in AI systems used for decision-making in sectors such as healthcare, education, and public administration.

Framework Structure and Guidelines
Developed over eighteen months through consultations with ethicists, legal experts, and technologists, the model outlines seven core principles including human oversight requirements and mandatory impact assessments prior to deployment. It recommends regular audits of training datasets to prevent discriminatory outcomes and establishes clear protocols for data provenance documentation. Institutions adopting the model must appoint independent ethics committees to review high-risk applications and publish annual transparency reports detailing algorithm performance metrics.
The guidelines also specify technical standards for explainability, requiring that AI outputs affecting individuals include human-readable justifications. Training modules accompanying the model focus on building internal capacity among Polish organizations to implement these standards without external consultants. Early adopters include two regional hospitals and a municipal education authority that have begun pilot implementations.
Expected Impact on National Policy
Researchers at Nexuslab anticipate the model will inform upcoming legislation on AI regulation currently under discussion in the Polish parliament. By providing a practical template aligned with European Union directives, the framework aims to position Poland as a leader in responsible AI governance within Central Europe. The publication includes case studies demonstrating reduced bias in recruitment algorithms and improved patient outcome predictions in diagnostic tools when ethical protocols are followed.
Further validation studies are scheduled for the coming year, with open calls for additional institutional partners to test scalability. The full documentation is available through the Nexus Laboratory Research portal for download and adaptation by interested entities.
